Esta fue una de las primeras obras que hice con acrílico.
Desde hace dos años que ya conocía la obra del artista Hundertwasser y
resultó ser una inspiración importante en mi vida.

This was one of my very first paintings done with acrylics.
My favourite artist was Hundertwasser, I discovered his work 2 years before
and it happened to be an important inspiration in my life.

Este fue un ejercicio que hice para un ramo de la universidad,
inspirado en el mes de septiembre, cuando se celebra la
independencia en Chile y todos los niños salen a elevar volantines.

This was an exercise I did for a subject at university, I was inspired
in the month of September, when we celebrate the independence in
Chile and all children go to the fields to elevate kites.

Durante 1997 estaba en mi segundo año de universidad. Había experimentado con óleos, pero no sabía que  
era tan importante pintar en ambientes bien ventilados...me enteré al día después de haber pintado largas
horas encerrada en mi habitación, me sentía mareada, tenía náuseas y mi cara ya tenía los tonos amarillo
verdosos que estaba usando!JA!. Decidí buscar algo menos dañino y fue así como llegué a los acrílicos....me
cambió la vida!.

During 1997 I was in my second year at university. Untill that year I experimented with oil paints but I didn't
know that it was so important to do it in a very well ventilated room...I realized the day after I painted for
long hours locked in my bedroom. I felt dizzy, nauseous and my face was showing the yellow and greenish
colors I was using! HA!. I decided then to look for something less harmful and that's how I found the
acrylics...they changed my life!
